When He was rudely treated by the Roman armies, He suffered the pain and died with blood never stop to bleed, His mind never leave us. The last 7 words of Jesus Christ on the cross:
1.
2.
"Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."
Gospel of Luke 23:43
"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34
3.
"Jesus said to his mother: "Woman, this is your son".
Then he said to the disciple: "This is your mother."
Gospel of John 19:26-27
Then he said to the disciple: "This is your mother."
Gospel of John 19:26-27
4.
5.
"I thirst"
Gospel of John 19:28
6.
When Jesus had received the wine, he said,
"It is finished";
and he bowed his head and handed over the spirit.
Gospel of John 19:30
"It is finished";
and he bowed his head and handed over the spirit.
7.
Jesus cried out in a loud voice,
"Father, into your hands I commend my spirit":
Gospel of Luke 23:46
"Father, into your hands I commend my spirit":
First, He asked His Father, the God
to forgive those betrayed and treated rudely to Him because they are
ignorant. Behind His painful suffering, He remains with His great love
to forgive His enemies. For us, We Shall Love our Enemies.
Second, when the second sinner
besides Him showed his faith to Him, Jesus ask the Father to forgive
this sinner's sin. This shows how generous the Jesus Christ is, to love
even a repentent sinner, for him to be remembered and forgiven even he
was a sinner before. For us, We shall Learn To Forgive Even One that was
ever betrayed us before.
Third, Jesus spoke to His mother -
the Mary and His loved disciple- John. Jesus is truly a human being, as a
son He concerns to His mother, and when He was crucified on the cross,
He never forget to ask John, to take care His mother after His death.
For us, We shall be like Jesus, Remember and Love our Parents endless,
just a son or daughter should be.
Fourth, Jesus speaks this in the
ninth hour, after 3 hours of darkness. Jesus cried out loudly and this
is the most terribly moment that Jesus feels separated for His Father,
to face the death alone. This shows how exactly how we experience when
we are die. Jesus completely lives the human experience as we do, but He
remains to give all His love to us, just to free us from our sins. For
us, Jesus become a ransom for all, a mediator between human and the God.
Through His death, we are redeemed.
Fifth, this is another human
expression from Jesus. However, as like King David cried out in Psalm
22, that he was thirsty, his enemies brough him the vinegar. The Romans
did the same thing to Jesus, unlike David who cursed to his enemies,
Jesus remains to forgive them. For us, Jesus is thirsty, so do we when
we are suffering, and we must like Jesus, learn to forgive even we are
treated badly by others.
Sixth, Jesus complete His task, to
redeem and be ransom for our people lives with His death on the cross.
For us, we must remember this all the time, without Jesus how we dare to
claim as a Christian or God's children today?
Seventh, this is a word of reunion.
In John 10:30, "The Father and I are One". Jesus sacrifice and now
return to Heaven reunite with the Father. For us, we shall have faith
and that will be One day we shall reunite with Jesus and God the Father
in Heaven.
In this Good Friday, we must always
have three things to keep in mind: Have Faith to God; Always learn to
Forgive; Must Action to spread the Good news about Jesus Christ to many
Today, i learn to love our Jesus and God the Father more than yesterday, and this Love must be progressively grow. Amen!
