The Christchurch Earthquake

Christchurch earthquake has caught so much of my attention because of two reasons: (1) My future bro-in-law is staying there (2) My husband’s good friend is trapped in a collapsed building for more than 48 hours after incident. The earthquake affected most in the city business district (CBD), my sis’s bf and his sister are staying suburb, survived from the attack, the only damaged part is their house. However, the good friend of my husband, whom is also his cousin’s best friend, and my ex-churchmate, have lost contact ever since the earthquake happened. Bad news is, the NZ polices decided to abandon the rescue as the building has collapsed, and any rescue that involves more intense digging activity might affect other nearly-collapsed buildings next to it. It’s believed that more than 100 people are trapped inside that building, including a group of Japanese students, the staffs from King’s education centre and the Canterbury TV (CTV) crew. That saddened me, especially i know someone that’s closed to my loved ones and their lives are in risk.
