We visited China from 24 September till 2 October 2011. First stop was the Tianjin, then we took the bullet train from Tianjin to Beijing which took only 20 mins to arrive, with a train speed of 300 km/hr. We spent three nights in Beijing, and visited the GuGong or the Palace Museum, TianAngMeng, Badaling Great Wall of China, QiXi's Summer palace (Yi Heng Yuan) and the GongWangFu. To cut the blog post short, i will let the pictures to tell the story.
We only stopped by in Tianjin for a night, then the next morning we took the train to Beijing. Our hotel was quite near to TianAngMeng (still have to walk for 15 min). This is one of the gardens behind the TianAngmeng and the famous red wall surrounds the Palace Museum.
The Palace Museum is just behind the TianAngMeng, but it is so big and long that we spent three hours to explore it. We hired a local Chinese guide to tell us the history of this place. It's worthwhile to have the guide with you, because you will find the history of China is pretty interesting.
I took this because we used to see this from the TV dramas.
We went to this lottery shop because i stepped on the dog's poo after our dinner in Tianjin last night. Anyway, we didn't win too.
On that night we walked to WangFuJing street, another must-go place in Beijing. It offers food and shopping for tourists, don't think the locals will go there because the price is quite unreasonable. But they do have many weird stuffs to see, for example eat the raw scorpions or star fishes as in above pictures. None of us dare to try.
On the next day, we joined a local tour to visit the Badaling Great Wall of China. It's quite cloudy on that morning.
As part of the tour package, we also visited this Ming Emperor's graveyard.
We spent our evening to hunt for food and shopping in QianMeng Street.
Another famous Beijing restaurant which offers the authentic Peking Roasted Duck.
We ordered two roasted ducks and together with other side dishes, it cost us around RMB1700 (equivalent of RM850).
QianMeng street is quite a cultural village, with many ancient decorated buildings. It's one of the oldest streets in China and just recent years, was fully refurnished and maintained.
Then we walked back to our hotel, i am not too sure what building is this. Looks like the "parliment" for them
To end my first part of China trip, this is the TianAngMeng at night.
